How to Wear Panty Hose like Kate Middleton

We’ve heard it all; Kate Middleton is the new fashion icon. She unquestionably has a great sense of style. Now that she blossoms into a style diva, attention shifts to her new style statement – panty hose.

See: Is Kate Middleton Becoming Anorexic?

Do you love how Kate Middleton wears panty hose? Have you noticed that she is quite hosed up too often? Is panty hose her new royal style identity or is it simply required by protocol?

We understand that “panty hose” has been on life support for how many years now, that’s both figuratively and literally. The young generation of women, I myself included, opt for a less formal more freeing look – bare legs, no panty hose.

While panty hose used to be the symbol of women’s liberation, styling without panty hose is the new form of women’s rebellion.

Why not? We women are more equipped now than ever before. We’ve earned more confidence too, and that includes baring our skin, needless of nylon cover ups.

But now that Kate Middleton is reviving the elegance of panty hose, do you think it’s on its way to rebirth?

Wearing panty hose is never outdated, never an obsolete styling technique. You may feel confident enough of your legs and you may opt for comfortable and casual chic look, but there are occasions, gatherings and places where wearing panty hose still stands out.

Kate Middleton isn't afraid to bare legs
If you carefully observe when Kate Middleton wears panty hose, she’s hosed up whenever she attends royal gatherings, political meet ups or formal parties. But when she goes to see a polo match or if she attends some less formal gatherings, you’ll she her bare her legs too.

You may not attend royal gatherings like Kate does, but you definitely go for a job interview, perform a presentation at work (for promotion?) or you represent your company to conferences. During these times, wearing a suit and skirt and a panty hose is still more powerful than a suit and pants.

You don’t need to wear panty hose everyday at work, but it’s important that you know when to use them for your edge.

If you attend a formal party and you’re not on the mood for long dresses, you’ll never go wrong with mini-skirt and panty hose; oh, well, unless if summer burns like it does in the tropics.

So tell me, how do you wear panty hose?

Make My Heart Melt by Sretsis

If you can take your wardrobe down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland fashions, you can chase after true love with “Make my Heart Melt” Spring/Summer 2010 collection by Sretsis. Inspired by Macoto Takahashi, a Japanese manga artist who depicts romance through beautiful young maidens, wide-eyed innocents and angelic princesses with lots of detail and lace, the three sisters – Pim, Kly and Matina Sukhahuta – founders of the brand, adapted them for their 2010 collection.

sretsis

Sretsis, which is “sisters” spelled backward, was founded in 2002 and is one of Thai favorite brands. A collaboration of three sisters, Pim leads the team as the design director; Kly handles the marketing side and Martina showcases her creativity through quirky jewelries.

While love has become very conditional and trivial, the sisters believe that it’s not what it is supposed to be. Through their “Make my Heart Melt” they re-examine “the world’s most powerful emotion with fresh outlooks”. Love is meant to be pure but playful and fun. Romance shouldn’t be dead. It has to be in full bloom. And what better way to express love and romance than flowery prints, cutting flows, light breezy satin silk and organza silk with fluttering baby birds?

sretsis 3

For the first time, the Sretsis took its collection away from Bangkok’s mediocre fashion weeks. On the last weekend of March, the sisters transformed a dull futsol ground in Thonglor into a secret English garden with flowers and real chirping birds to unveil their love collection. Abundant petals were flying and children playing bubbles chased them here and there. Models carried the collection in a very cheerful and carefree manner with lots of smiles, wafting on and off. Indeed, love is so much fun!

Sretsis has been featured by New York Post on September 2009; by Koutore on October 2009; by Glamour on November 2009; by Teen Vogue on March 2010 and by Elle on April 2010. Celebrities who were spotted strutting Sretsis include Katy Perry, January Jones, Beyonce Knowles and Zooey Deschannel.

If you happen to visit Bangkok, you can access Sretsis fashions at Sretsis Boutique Gaysorn, Gaysorn 2F-28, Ploenchit Rd. Patumwan Bangkok 10330 or at Sretsis Emporium, Emporium Shopping Complex, 1st Floor 622 Sukhumvit 24 Bangkok 10110.

When asked by fashion reporter O. Pravatti about their next big thing, Pim answered with good nerve, “getting married?” Made me wonder, how would wedding dresses look with flowers and cute little animals? But of course, another inspiration would come, another definition of love to flash.

Is Kate Middleton becoming anorexic?

It's been said, Kate Middleton is the new "fashion icon". Whatever she touches, it turns into gold. Whatever she wears, you bet, it's sold out in minutes.

Is she aware of her being a fashion icon? Is she capitalizing on this new title by making it a career to keep losing weight? Or is she simply having a wedding after effect?

Kate Middleston is too skiny
Kate Middleton went from size 6 to size 2
When I saw her during the wedding, I gushed about her figure, admiring her very tiny waist and model-like body. She was a very beautiful bride. But then seeing her photos after the honeymoon, I started to feel worried about her even smaller arms. She simply looked very thin, not the kind of normal, healthy figure.

I would like her to maintain that same weight she had during the wedding. A lot of people were already worried about it but I was fine with it. But dropping even more pounds is no longer healthy. I don't support any more weight loss of her.

Indeed, her weight loss is her own business, however, now that she apparently has become a "fashion icon",  her weight becomes everyone's concern. People copy her style, fans purchase whatever she wears, not surprisingly, these flock of followers will go to the extreme too, if only they could have her look.

And that makes things dangerous not only to Kate Middleton, but also to a lot of women who are mislead by the thought of "small size means pretty".

I hope she realizes that her weight loss is approaching the danger zone, as health experts have pointed, and that she better start eating more healthily.

What do you think of Kate Middleton's weight lose?

Kim Kardashian Wears Bold Animal Print - Here's What I Think

I've written about how to wear animal print and one of the rules that I've mentioned is to take only one single piece that's large if you go for animal print.

Kim Kardashian has recently been photographed sporting a bold animal print outfit as she exited Wera Wang's shop, with Wera Wang herself.

She went for a two-piece animal print; a deep V-neck top and a baggy pants, both of the same pattern and print.

The outfit itself is loud and totally bold but I love how Kim Kardashian pulled it off. She followed the rule, take one large and let the others, the accessories, be non-animal.

Since the top is a deep V-neck, it displayed Kim's healthy blossoms, drawing attention to them and away from the print, if only a bit. It also helped that she did not wear a lot of accessories, only a sporty watch and some gold bangles and she wore her neck bare. There were not a lot of distractions and it wasn't a messy look.

Her hair, being neatly pulled up, was perfect. It provided her a clean aura as oppose to the print. If she happened to wear her hair down, I'm certain it would suffice to give her an uber jungle look.

She picked the right shoes too, light brown, which of the same shade of brown as in her print.

This animal print outfit can easily overcome the wearer, but Kim did a good job. Not everyone can conquer this print.

What do you think? Did Kim Kardashian pull off this outfit perfectly?
