Luha Boutique Pleated Clutch Review

A clutch or purse is now an important element of a woman´s outfit. Without it, she feels like she´s naked. Clutches and purses have evolved into fashion must-haves overtime. There are many modern trends which you can choose from, you can go for ones with studs, metallic, in animal print or girly polka dots and floral versions.

I´ve been approached by the pr guys of Luha Boutique to review one of their clutches. Because I adore this little number, I said yes. I received a green pleated clutch with floral prints as pictured below. And as you can see, it´s very cute and girly.

I´m looking forward to summer so I could amp up a casual summer dress with this item. I would style it with either a sleeveless little black dress with ankle boots or with a blue denim shorts teamed with nude cropped top and ballerina flats.

This pleated clutch is available for only $30CAD, which is very affordable for a clutch. This is one of those affordable pieces which you can mix with some of your invested items.

However, there are two drawbacks that I found necessary to note about this clutch. First, I don´t like the way the zipper was sewn on the cloth, it´s not clean enough. A lot of undesirable threads are protruding off the sides of the zip. Second, the clutch is too soft that it can´t stand on its own. You can´t put in it your lipstick, wallet and eye shadow and expect to hold it like you would normally carry a structured clutch.

In order for you to be confident carrying this clutch, you would have to cut off those unnecessary thread excess and put inside a thick vertical cardboard, or the like, which will provide structure to it, before you put your little stuff.

All in all I found this pleated clutch from Luha Boutique nice and cute. If you´re into girly accessories for less, I would definitely recommend it.

Hello Creative Fashionistas, I know I`ve said goodbye to this blog, but shortly after I did so, I realized my "goodbye" is not absolute. I´m feeling SO home sick, I´m missing my good old blog. While I love the sophistication of my new Creative Fashion blog, I miss the carefreeness of this original one, which is more freeing.

Clarisse Style 1406 Prom Dress Review

I´m no longer very young and yet I´m still extremely fixated with prom dresses and homecoming dresses. You must understand; I´ve never been to a prom or a ball party. I grew up to a strict religious family and all our high school ball parties were held on Friday nights, which is already the start of the Sabbath that our religion observes. I was never allowed to attend those parties, not even to see how it´s like. I had a boring high school life.

So you can just imagine my excitement when I was contacted by the representative of a popular designer line, Clarisse dresses, to style and review one of their dresses. My heart skipped and I felt like I´m a sweet high school girl once again. I had a hard time choosing which dress to style from the several beautiful dresses available for review. Yet, I eventually settled for a brown/gold short prom dress for two reasons. First, the brown and gold combination creates a matured sophistication that is appropriate for my age, and second, I love it´s striking, very unique look.

This brown/gold short homecoming dress is by every inch a stunner. The charmeuse fabric is interestingly placed on the strapless bodice to give it a more unique look. My most favorite detail of the dress is the beaded belt which accents the gold lame net bubble skirt. Its back is very sexy and its fabric and details shine so beautifully at night. Since this dress comes with a bubble skirt, it adds me volume which complements my very slim figure. Also, unlike other dresses that are plainly lined, this brown/gold prom dress features two wide and deep pockets on each side. I was actually surprised to discover them and thought they´re great rooms for my keys, card and some cash. You don´t need a clutch to take care whole night if you´re going to really enjoy the night, do you? But I need not worry about the dress getting bulky, it´s a bubble dress, after all.

I ordered the dress in size 0, the smallest size available. Unfortunately, I am currently too slim for a good definition; the dress is bigger than me. Since the dress is strapless, the waist area should fit snugly around the waist to hold the dress in place. The tube bodice stands and forms by itself so even if you have smaller chests, it isn´t obvious.

My only plight therefore is that the waist does not fit right which makes the dress slide down. How can I wear it to a real party then? Bringing it to a tailor for refitting isn´t even an option because I´m certain the delicate details will get ruined. Of course, Clari Adrian must have perceived this so that two brown straps are included in the package. I can easily sew the ready-to-attach spaghetti straps on the dress and everything will be right on place. An extra gold lame net fabric is also included in the packet so that whenever you accidentally hurt your bubble dress, you have a way to mend it.

I absolutely adore this dress and I recommend it with all my heart to all ladies who are going to dance away a homecoming night.

After a while of debating if I should keep this blog while I´ve lauched it´s .com version, I finally arrived at a tough decision, I have to let it go.

It´s a very difficult decision, it didn´t come without tears. Part of me wants to hold on, but a bigger part knows that I can´t manage.

I started this blog early in 2009. I was quite doubtful if I could make it. I had no community, I had a very limited fashion dictionary.

But time flies. I learned a lot of html, SEO and online marketing through this blog. Above all, I learned a lot about fashion. It generated me revenue more than I expected so that it financed the launch of my two websites - Creative Fashion and Offbeat Marriage.

I so love this blog. I´ve put so much to it. It helped me survive when I broke my heart, it saw me fell in love for another time, and it was with me when I got engaged, until I got married. You must understand why it means so much to me.

But change is part of growth. I´m now extending my wings, blogging more professionally, full-time, at a new home.

Should Red Soles be Made Exclusive for Louboutin?

Have you heard? Louboutin lost its battle against rival Yves Saint Laurent for the exclusivity of the use of red soles.

Louboutin has made the scarlet sole its trademark. If another high end label plays copycat, doesn't Louboutin have the right to protect his idea?

But "US District Judge Victor Marrero ruled that Louboutin -- even if widely recognized for its trailblazing use of red under the shoe -- could not stop competitors like YSL from doing the same thing." Read the story here.

This is because "Awarding one participant in the designer shoe market a monopoly on the color red would impermissibly hinder competition among other participants."

It may seem unfair for the true creatives but really, nobody owns ideas. It's akin to photography. If you took a photo of an unknown beach, you're the copyright owner of that photo. You own that photo, however, not the idea. If another photographer goes and take photo of the same beach, you can't stop him.

YSL argues that even Louboutin isn't the original of the red sole idea. YSL was quoted saying that the idea for red soles was "copied from King Louis XIV's red-heeled dancing shoes or Dorothy's famous ruby slippers in 'The Wizard of Oz,'"

Make My Heart Melt by Sretsis

Is Kate Middleton becoming anorexic?

It's been said, Kate Middleton is the new "fashion icon". Whatever she touches, it turns into gold. Whatever she wears, you bet, it's sold out in minutes.

Is she aware of her being a fashion icon? Is she capitalizing on this new title by making it a career to keep losing weight? Or is she simply having a wedding after effect?

When I saw her during the wedding, I gushed about her figure, admiring her very tiny waist and model-like body. She was a very beautiful bride. But then seeing her photos after the honeymoon, I started to feel worried about her even smaller arms. She simply looked very thin, not the kind of normal, healthy figure.

I would like her to maintain that same weight she had during the wedding. A lot of people were already worried about it but I was fine with it. But dropping even more pounds is no longer healthy. I don't support any more weight loss of her.

Indeed, her weight loss is her own business, however, now that she apparently has become a "fashion icon", her weight becomes everyone's concern. People copy her style, fans purchase whatever she wears, not surprisingly, these flock of followers will go to the extreme too, if only they could have her look.

And that makes things dangerous not only to Kate Middleton, but also to a lot of women who are mislead by the thought of "small size means pretty".

I hope she realizes that her weight loss is approaching the danger zone, as health experts have pointed, and that she better start eating more healthily.

Kim Kardashian Wears Bold Animal Print - Here's What I Think

I've written about how to wear animal print and one of the rules that I've mentioned is to take only one single piece that's large if you go for animal print.

Kim Kardashian has recently been photographed sporting a bold animal print outfit as she exited Wera Wang's shop, with Wera Wang herself.

She went for a two-piece animal print; a deep V-neck top and a baggy pants, both of the same pattern and print.

The outfit itself is loud and totally bold but I love how Kim Kardashian pulled it off. She followed the rule, take one large and let the others, the accessories, be non-animal.

Since the top is a deep V-neck, it displayed Kim's healthy blossoms, drawing attention to them and away from the print, if only a bit. It also helped that she did not wear a lot of accessories, only a sporty watch and some gold bangles and she wore her neck bare. There were not a lot of distractions and it wasn't a messy look.

Her hair, being neatly pulled up, was perfect. It provided her a clean aura as oppose to the print. If she happened to wear her hair down, I'm certain it would suffice to give her an uber jungle look.

She picked the right shoes too, light brown, which of the same shade of brown as in her print.

This animal print outfit can easily overcome the wearer, but Kim did a good job. Not everyone can conquer this print.

Including images in blog posts is good for capturing your readers’ attention and curiosity. A great image gives your article a boost, creates an overall atmosphere for your post and compels your visitors to read your well-written article. Images are also good breakers for lengthy posts which entertain readers as they dig deeper in your posts. In fashion writing, images are even more important because fashionistas are interested with the visuals and graphics more than the texts, so to speak.

For instance, if you say “a red roomy leather bag with accents of pearls”, your readers would want to know through an image how exactly those pearls look against the leather.

But the question is, “where do you get great images for your posts?”

Most bloggers get their photos from google. It’s been a habit of a lot of bloggers to simply include a “photo credit: google” in the photo captions or below their posts. While most bloggers get away with this, this is not entirely safe. It’s difficult to trace the source of the image and the copyright and you are at risk of getting sued. I get some of my free images from Flikr under the license of Creative Commons but at times, I get frustrated because some great images that would go perfect for my posts are labeled “All rights reserved.”

As I prepare to upgrade Creative Fashion into a professional blog with its own domain, I become more adept with the quality and the legalities of images that I’d use in my posts.

I've been lurking around this site for a while, checking their photos and calculating my budget if how many photos I can afford. Using stock photos from Fotolia makes you sleep well at night. You need not worry about copyright infringement and possible law suits. Sleep well, darlings.

Having more than 12.7 millions of royalty free images for sale, Fotolia has photos available for almost any keyword or theme that you are looking for. I searched for “skinny jeans” for example; it gave me 1028 files to choose from.

3. You can purchase an image at Fotolia for as low as $0.27

Fotolia offers you two buying options; single purchase or subscription purchase. Single purchase of images is based on credits. One credit price varies from $1.20 down to $0.75 depending on the credit package size and image size (XS, S, M, L, XL have different prices). The minimum account refill required to make single purchases amounts to $12, which is transferred to your balance as 10 credits. You are free to spend those on any purchases within one year.

Through their cheapest subscription plan, only $199, you get 750 photos each priced at $0.27. The key here is the more you pay for your subscription plan, the cheaper the items on Fotolia will be. This is especially good if you are determined to level up your professional website for the years to come.

After you’ve searched for your keyword, the photo results are delivered as thumbnails. If you hover your mouse over a photo, a bigger preview pops up. If its something that you’d like, you click either “add to shopping cart” or “add to your lighthouse” an organize gallery. After you’re done browsing, you can quickly navigate to your Shopping cart and choose the photos and sizes that you’d like to download.

5. You are given two options for downloading

After you’ve done chosen the images to purchase, you are given two options to download, either you directly download every single file and save them to your pc or you download all photos at once through a zip file. It takes only few minutes, at most 5, for Fotolia to convert the photos into zip file, they’ll give you a notice to check your mail for the link where you can quickly download and save the zipped files. After purchasing, you have 48 hours to download and re-download your photos or copy and paste the photos’ html before your access goes.

6. High resolution quality photos

All photos are of great quality. The highest resolution I’ve download is 4256 x 2832 and the quality is amazing, very bright and vibrant. Even the smaller resolution photos are still great.

Fotolia's Drawbacks

1. Cost money

Unless your website is already making money, or unless you’re certain that your niche’s market is big and your affiliate programs and other income streams will start rolling soon, parting from a good $12 – the minimum credit refill – is just difficult. You might rather keep your money and wait longer until you’re capable of stock photo purchases.

2. Images can be bland and formulaic

Another draw back that I’ve found while making the best of my experience at Fotolia is that, because the photos are stock photos, they can be bland and formulaic. They’re so well-matched to business-friendly keywords like ‘skinny jeans’ or ‘fashion’ that most seem too artificial or too forced. I long for more spontaneous, free flowing photos than a stiff model showing how her rear bulges beneath skinny jeans.

Recommendations

If you’re a fashion blogger who’s serious of raising the bar for your blog, making it more professional and establishing your credibility, you must consider using some images from Fotolia if your budget allows. You better allot specific budget for stock photos that’s reasonable. You can’t always rely on Flikr or Google for free images nor can you use press release photos without advertising the product/brand for free.

If you’re writing a “How to” fashion post, e.g. “How to wear stilettos” or other themed random posts, it’s okay to use formulaic stock photos. The only time it won’t work is when you write an article like “Top ten hot skinny jeans for summer” because I doubt if you'd find all the fabulous skinny jeans you’d need for your post.

You almost can't believe that these are the very imaginations of a sick girl from the "The Secret Garden" novel. Just like the the OMG fashion faux scouts, I too love this Armani Prive gown Gwen Stefani sported at 64th Cannes Film Festival, May, 20, 2011.

This dress is a winner. It bares her toned arms and shoulders. The crochet top is divided in the middle through the black ribbon that pulls them apart creating emphases on the two girly white ribbons while simultaneously teasing the spectators with Gweneth's bare skin just a little beneath the bosoms. It's something you don't see often in the red carpet.

I try to define the story that Gwen and her stylist wanted to portray. Is it a matronly step mother, a cold blooded aristocrat or an aging rich widow? Because if her story is any of these, the dress obviously does not fit.

An angelic dress with touch of modernity, a neat hair that's worn down and a lighter, carefreer make up would best give this Armani Prive gown justice.

So next time you wear this dress, Gwen, drop the matronly up do and lessen the fierceness of your eye shadow, you'll be an angle in the red carpet.

Shopping for shoes is number one in my to-do list this summer. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m moving to Europe hopefully this summer, right? Well, that means taking advantage of stylish yet very affordable fashion items here in Bangkok while I still can. Since I love shoes a lot, I worry more with how many pairs I can bring with me than anything else. I’m thinking I better shop for winter boots since those are the type of shoes that I don’t own enough, but whenever I do window shopping to search for potential pairs, I usually end up checking for ankle boots. I wonder if I’ve a preference for ankle boots over knee length boots or if it’s simply because of the current weather that I’m blessed to enjoy.

If I shop for shoes, I always check a few of my favorite high street brands first. I no longer go for local brands no matter how promising they seem because of some traumatic experience I had, falling in love with a very beautiful pair (which wasn’t cheap, mind you!) just to have their skin peel after wearing them twice. I haven’t done shopping online for shoes yet, but that’s something that I’m looking forward to do soon.

Henry Holland Lace Body Review - your elegant and feminine bodysuit

If a mass of beautiful lingerie, bras, shape wear and accessories are available for you to review, it’s easy to get drown and choosing just one is really difficult. Lingerie Please! And yet I figured the one that stood out among all the beauties, something that requires more guts to wear – a lacy bodysuit.

The Henry Holland Lace Body is available only in black. But it didn’t bother me much if color choices aren’t there because black is just perfect for an elegant bodies. Just like a typical bodysuit or leotard, you’ll have to slip yourself into it through the neck opening with the absence of a zip down the back. So you’ll have to stretch wide the neck to give way for your hips and amazingly, I found the material really strong. I first felt like I’m getting too hard on it whenever I’ve to wear it but after several times of slipping in and out of this suit, I’m convinced that the material is strong enough to last.

The tights’ hem reaches down the mid-shin while the sleeves extend down between the forearm and hand, but that’s depending on what you prefer.

I love the flexibility of a bodysuit when it comes to styling. On winter, you can wear it with jeans or trousers. But since it’s too hot during summer, you can better style it with high waisted skirts or shorts or experiment with an A-line linen skirt that sits on the hips. You can also layer it with a very mini dress. Having it in black is perfect for varied color combinations.

The only draw back of a bodysuit aside from being too hot in the summer is that, when you’re wearing it for a demanding whole day affair, using a rest room isn’t fun. It takes time to slip off and slip back making you feel irritated. Therefore I suggest wearing it only to a lazy party or a girl’s night out when you are supposed to have fun.

Things to skip at Forever 21

Who doesn't love Forever 21? With all the bargain stylish items, it's easy to get drown with all the tempting things to grab. But Yahoo Shine, in their article "What not to buy at Forever 21" said it right - you get what you pay for.

The article identified items that, regardless of how promising and extra-affordable, you better skip and keep your money. These include earrings, dresses, shoes and jeans. But things that are worth to steal include - sun glasses, on trend tops, swim wear and bags.

I couldn't help but agree much to this article. I did experience buying a promising shirt from Forever 21 just to get disappointed with its low quality. But then the jeans that I purchased from the shop was even worse, I never got to wear it since the day I brought it home.

Aside from the jeans being thin, it was entirely ill-fitting. When I tried it on in the fitting room, it was looking fine. The jeans seemed to fit well although I had a feeling of having it too fit, I thought it'd be fine after sometime of wearing it, that it would stretch out. But when I was home and tried it again, I realized that the jeans doesn't allow me to sit comfortable.The tightness in the hips, for what other reasons, just pull the jeans from the knee down. When sitting, I tried to pull the jeans up to the waist, to no avail. I'm not sure if my rear is just too big for the jeans, or if it simply not made to accommodate a bump like mine. Since I don't feel comfortable with it, I never had the courage to wear it. It made me swear not to buy jeans from Forever 21 again.

Where to shop fashionable high street men’s wear – Humor Clothing

The good thing about having a sexy husband is that it’s easy to dress him up (No, not the mum dressing up a kid kind of thing!). If you look for clothing to buy him as gift, almost anything masculine and stylish would surely fit him. It’s fun to see on him those he-man attires worn by mannequins.

I love shopping for my husband’s clothing. It’s important that I know his style and taste. Those include cut, color and trend. Shopping online I met Humor Clothing, an online shop for men’s clothing. They have the style and trend that my hubby would surely like.

Is Kate Middleton's wedding dress too simple?

Last Friday, 29th April, I knew very well that it’s the royal wedding day. Who would forget, when even a year 5 boy in my school just said out of the blue “Teacher, today is Kate’s wedding”. I was caught off guard, in the midst of a very busy day, somebody reminded me. There’s only one question that played in my head while the boy strolled away. “What is Kate Middleton wearing?”

Luckily, my location is Asia and by the time the wedding started, my day job was already done. I had the chance to see the Royal wedding live through my laptop. My hubby phoned me and said “Tune in, it’s starting.”

I saw Kate marched that long red aisle with her father. She was so beautiful! But while I admired her very princess beauty, I was disappointed with the dress. I was disappointed not because the dress was not elegant or pretty enough, but because I was expecting something very grand.

I settled in my seat examining the entire look, undeniably it was fabulous, conservative with some touches of modernity. After sometime I figured that I expected her to flaunt something that’s Holywood style and reminded myself that this is a Westminster Abbey wedding and royals are suppose to be conservative.

But then I compared her dress with Princess Diana’s. I think that Diana’s was far way grander, not to mention the tiaras. Indeed the dress, while stunning and elegant, was classic and understated, something that doesn't seem to portray her real personality. Isn’t she the new fashion icon?

Of course I loved the dress. Its simplicity stood out and didn’t overwhelm her. I loved her Cartier tiara, which was lent to her by the queen. It wasn’t as loud as that of Diana’s, but I’m certain it didn’t cause her headache because of weight which Diana had to endure. But there was something in the veil that I didn’t really like. I feel that the veil had shadowed the dress. Although the two meters long and adorned with reams of hand-embroidered lace train was more than enough to avenge the veil’s simplicity.

Her hair was worn loose and down. This is where she went modern. Not a lot of brides are brave enough to not wear their hair tight and neat. As someone who just had a wedding, I know how the hair demands significant decision.

She is very slim and her figure is perfect. The waist, with Nipped-in waistline, displayed her figure that left a lot of fashion critics in awe.

As I reflect upon the royal wedding, I couldn’t help but notice that it’s less grand than that of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's. But perhaps it’s a good sign, the new couple learned from their parents’ legacy – grandness isn’t what makes a happy marriage.

Bookstores seem to be the only place to get school books, but these stores squeeze the money out of you. Her designs are vintage inspired and "can best be described as Eco Luxe. Each piece is hand embellished and made from sustainable, organic, recycled and locally produced textiles" otherwise called the re-definition of ethical fashion.

But she's not your typical fashion designer. She did not get formal training, instead, it was simply a passion and hobby mixed with special skills and her love for vintage clothing which snowballed into success. Her label was first launched in 2008.

The downside of buying fashion items on sale – which fashionistas are in danger?

The community of fashionistas is divided into groups. The first group is made of those who refuse to buy items that are mass produced. They chase for products that are almost not available to the public which give them some feeling of exclusivity. Don’t even talk about fashion on sale to them or they’ll see you as cheap.

The next group is made of those who buy designers clothes and accessories and mixed them up with some high street products. They may or may not buy items on sale depending on their mood. While they appreciate copycats and occasionally go for them, they don’t hesitate to buy high ends whenever the urge demands.

And then there are those who purchase designer items if and only if they’re on sale. Most of the time, they prefer high street products because they’re stylish, affordable and practical. They absolutely love mega sales and they don’t bother to mix up brands with some unbranded items.

If you ask me, I belong on the third group. What about you?

There’s this mentality that buying items on sale is practical. It’s okay to acquire more as long as you spend less. To put it a bit negative, “spending more for less”.

But for how many instances I found that buying items on sale is not always as practical as it may seem. I realized that to make the most of getting discounts, you have to be keen with the red flags.

I bought two fabulous tops from Forever 21. They were sold at 50%. I loved their style and since they promised comfort to me, I didn’t hesitate to take them. Out of these two, the “I love my Boyfriend” shirt was my favorite. Not only because it screams out what’s in my heart, but also because it feels very cool on the skin. Its fabric is 100% Rayon. It can be worn off shoulder. The shirt hangs loose down the torso but hugs around the hips. I really liked its cut.

I felt proud sporting my “expensive but bought on sale” shirt around the city. But to my disappointment, when I washed it the first time, the cloth on the upper back started to make holes. Those holes were contagious because more and more holes were coming while the original ones were getting bigger. It was something I didn’t expect.

The other white shirt however, though it wasn’t my favorite at first, was actually the one that gave my money’s worth. It’s made of 50% Rayon and 50% cotton. After quite a few times of wearing, it still is good.

Another disappointment that I earned from buying on sale is through this pair of boots. Its brand is Gazi and I don’t think it’s internationally known. As you can see, they’re simply adorable. I don’t always wear my favorite clothes and shoes because I wish to preserve them. But that practice turned out to be a bad idea for these shoes. After wearing them twice with only few months interval, I noticed that their skin was wearing off. I’ve not had enough of them yet and now they’re starting to look ugly. I don’t think I can still wear them, not with their cracked skin. So now they’re just sitting there in my closet, pretending they’re still pretty. You can just imagine my sadness.

I asked my friend the other day what bothers her when I saw her frowning early in the morning. She showed me her still quite new shoes, with the skins wearing off, too. I inquired if those were the pretty shoes she bragged about that she got on sale. The answer was “Yes”.

Therefore I've concluded two things.

1. When you are tempted to buy shoes on sale, examine the material. Usually, items are sold on sale because they’re nearing their deterioration period. Not all, of course, but mostly. Polyesters are very likely to wear off quick when bought on sale.

Even leathers have their limits too. Leathers that are bought at good quality become better in time especially when worn often. But a leather that’s been stocked for a long period of time before being sold on sale is a different case. Be careful.

2. For clothes, be wary of materials made purely of Rayon especially those sold on sale. A combination of Rayon and Cotton is more durable. Also, some fabrics are fake cottons. Just few weeks back I purchased an undershirt camisole that says 100% cotton and was on sale. After I did laundry, they showed lots of windows.

Must-have Cecilia Boots – in black or dark brown

While the temperature here in the tropics is always too high to wear a tall-shaft boots, collecting women’s boots is still my passion. I have a couple of them which I rarely wear and only for some selected occasions, but I do have quite a number of low-cut boots – the kind of boots that this country where I’m in allows me to strut.

However, since my husband lives in Europe, and if things are ready for me to move there, I’ll eventually need more of tall-shaft, winter boots. I was told to buy as much as I can -apparels, shoes and accessories here in Asia where the price is cheaper compared to that of Europe’s. You bet, that would take a lot of luggage bags.

But while I prefer off-line shopping, I don’t close myself from tons of online fashion stuff available for just one click. In fact, if you girls are just vigilant, you can buy more online for less. Just grab as much discount codes and crazy sales as you can.

Checking for tall-shaft boots online, I found two versions of a Connie Women's Cecilia Boots that I believe are a must-have. One comes in black, the other in brown.

Why are these boots a must have? First, I love that they aren’t very loud. They're plain, polished and not overdone. What makes a statement for these boots are the metal chain accents that drape down from the ankle. The round toe gives enough space for your toes so that no matter how long you'd wear it, say in a long fly from Bangkok to Germany, the toes aren’t squeezed mercilessly inside the boots all for the name of fashion. Why suffer if you can have fashion and comfort together?

The heels are about 3-4 inches. How come they’d be comfortable? They’re comfortable regardless of height because the heels aren't cigarette. They aren’t too slender that forces your weight on your joints and they aren’t too stout either that diminish your fashion galore.

Either the black or the dark brown will do well for you. They’re easy to match to almost any outfit combination you’d love to strut with them.

If there’s one special stone that I’d love to have, it’s a ruby. Something in this gem fascinates me. I love its pink blooded color, especially the natural one without inclusion, it’s very girly. This stone must have been created solely for Valentine’s Day that’s why its color speaks mostly of sweetness and love.

I wonder if men think of ruby if they're to propose. I bet the sight of a glimmering pinkish red after the box is opened would be more than enough to convince her that indeed, he's the one.

As for me, I’m done being engaged but I did not receive any ruby. I did, however, receive a wonderful ring that’s white gold around with a stone that’s just 1.0 Moh harder than ruby – a diamond. Of course I love my engagement ring. But if I were asked to choose between what my boyfriend gave me and a sweet ruby ring, I most probably would take weeks to decide.

Unfortunately, I don’t wear rings. This is due to my religion’s practice of simplicity (weird, huh? given that I blog about fashion). We don’t wear jewelries. So what would I do with my ruby ring if I had one? I won’t wear it, yes, but I most certainly put it in a fabulous jewelry box, look at it every night before I’d go to bed, delight in its beauty and guard it with all my life!

I noticed that there are more ruby rings and necklaces created out of this stone than wrist watches. And if there are any watches made that are accentuated by ruby, I haven’t found one that I really fancy, yet. (Let me know if you had!)

Because of my fascination of ruby, I researched about the places were this stone is mined. I learned that for centuries, the country that was most well-known as source of this gem is just a neighboring country – Myanmar. But things even got more fascinating when I discovered that Thailand, the very country where I’m in, has also been historically mined for ruby. Great news!

Last Friday I and my girl friends went to visit a Planetarium here in Bangkok. The place was full of displays of scientific experiments and animal models.

We visited the place for two reasons: 1) to expose the two kids - both my godchildren - to science and 2) to spend the holiday as bonding time for friends.

From time to time I can't help but blog about this fashion basic that Coco Chanel first introduced to the world in 1926. It might not be true to everyone, of course, but a little black dress is simply classic and by rule, is a must-have. I can't live without having it in my closet. If you're curious, this is how I wear little black dress.

It is much interesting to note how celebrities wear little black dress, how they shine at the red carpets amidst long gowns and how they sparkle in this no-longer-a-mourning-outfit at premieres or other events.

Here are some of my favorite celeb looks:

Angelina Jolie in a black mini at the premiere for her new movie 'Salt.'

Heidi Klum attended InStyle's "Best of British Talent" fete in a shiny Marchesa mini that featured trendy feathers on the shoulders and skirt.

Kristen Stewart looked like a princess in this Marchesa little black dress she wore at the premiere of the movie "Eclipse".

If asked what little black dresses I have my eyes on right now, these three topped my list:

There is nothing extra-ordinary with the designs except that the piece is detailed with expensive stones. Not only was I intrigued by the wealth that these creations show off, but also by the type of customers this designs target. Of course, the rich and the elite, the princesses. But just WHEN are they going to wear it? That baffles me.

The best part about this collection is that the Princess created it to support a charity work. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Cancer Institute.

I didn’t explore the Wacoal area of Siam Shopping Mall because I was looking for some new lingerie, nope. Instead, I accompanied Anny, a classmate from a weekend German class who works part-time as a PR person/presenter for the brand. I was glad I did. Stumbling upon the lingerie of Princess Sirivannavari was a beautiful thing.

Hello girls. It's been a while since my last update. I missed a lot of updates from the fashion world, the gossips about the hottest and the biggest style icons and celebrities and I almost vanished from our fashion blogging community. But nope, I didn't and wouldn't totally vanish, coz I'm back and is again ready to blog about the most fabulous things in the world now that my wedding is done.

Yes, I was gone for my wedding. There are lots of stuff and pictures to share, but sadly, I'm not well right now, a result of three full weeks of stress. I have to take a little rest first, then I'll be back with all the things to share.

A double Bridal Shower Party!

A double wedding in a month among best friends rarely happens. But it is happening for me and friend Daisy. A few days after I got engaged in December 2009, I told my very few close friends about it. It turned out, that Diasy and her man have planned their wedding on the same month that I and my beau had in mind - December 2010.

Thus, last week, before I flew back to my home country where we'll have my wedding, I and and my friend decided to have a double shower party. But things were so hectic at work as well as with each of our personal iteneraries that we barely had time to plan for the shower party thouroghly. Daisy was busy prepping for her wedding which was on Saturday, Dec. 11, while I was busy securing all the stuff I'd need for my flight and my own wedding.

Before I went to the party venue, we grabbed some burgers at KFC. Another reason to call it an offbeat bridal shower!

As it turned out, the shower party was very offbeat. We were glad that a co-teacher, Miss Ewadi, took charged for the planning of the brides' night. Another thing that made our bridal shower offbeat was that we weren't all girls. ;)

6 Easy Steps to Coordinate a Group Gift for the Boss

Coordinating a group gift for your boss to is easy. All you have to do is follow these simple steps: Form a group, assign a leader, collect gift ideas, decide on what gift to buy and the budget, buy the gift, and add a greeting card.

The boss is the ‘leader’ of the workplace and is often the busiest on the work team. He organizes and manages practically everything in the work place, from employees to work jobs. That is why he also deserves some appreciation for a job well done. The best time to show him that is on his birthday. A small group gift can already make your boss smile when he sees how well his team planned this little surprise.

Step 1: Form a group

Days before the boss’ birthday, share others in the work place your group gift ideas. Ask co-workers who are willing to participate and contribute to the plan. Gather as many group members as possible but never force anybody to join the group. More group members help lessen individual contributions.

Step 2: Assign a leader

After the group has been created, assign a group leader. Usually, the one who initiated the plan automatically takes over because he knows how to make the idea a successful one. The leader may have to assign certain people to act as a group treasurer to collect funds, another to buy the gift, and someone to take care of the packaging or wrapping.

Step 3: Collect gift ideas

We thank God for giving us time - a very precious gift that is more expensive than gold. In fact, a priceless gift. We also thank God for giving us a watch of which through it, we're able to check how much of the gift we have. How much time is left before we can get to work on time. How much time we'd need to shower, cook and set everything up for the day. For fashion bloggers, that means how much time to blog.

Funfair Fashion Show

In case some of you aren't aware yet, the fashionista behind this blog is a teacher. Last Sunday, we had a Funfair at school. It's a day when parents and students come to school on a weekend to hang out, have fun and get entertained. The teachers on the other hand prepare entertainment, booths and games to promote bonding between parents and children while raising funds for some worthwhile projects - so to speak.

Early on Sunday was very busy for us - hours before the funfair started. We had to complete the decorations for our booths which we've started doing since friday, with the interval of Saturday, Thank God it didn't rain in between.

My booth, along with my friend and co-teacher Joy, is the souvenir. As you can see in this picture, it ain't complete yet.

There were dances rendered by the students and my favorite being the dance by the K3 and K4. Not only was the dance choreographed by Joy, it also was a combination of fashion show of which, yours truly, came in. I lent a hand in choreographing the catwalk ;)

It's an International school. We have Indians, Thai, Japanese and other Asian ethnicity.

A dance and fashion show that's purely girls would be boring, mind you, so of course, boys had to come into the picture. After the little catwalk, the boys went up the stage to dance with the girls for the remaining half of the music.

The crowd loved the dance&catwalk presentation so much that it was done twice.

The bad thing about being the girl behind the lens stealing time to take photos while trying to sell our souvenir products is that, at the end of the day, I realized I've no single photo :(

"If I were to choose between a lovely dress and a fabulous pair of shoes, I'd take the shoes. Oh, how I love shoes!" My facebook private profile boldly screams this line. But hey, if I were to choose between an equally adorable pairs of evening shoes and boots, I'd take the boots. Of course, I would gladly take both. But if I can only get away with one, I'm leaning more for the killer boots.

Tonight, the shoeholic side of me is itching to come out. I decided to ease it by blogging about some of the boots that I found from my archives.

I wanted to give credit for this photo but I just can't remember the source.

I can just dream to buy all the boots that I fancy. I read tonight that 50% of your income can be spent for your needs, 20% for your savings and a whooping 30% for your wants. The latter percent is through the principle of "awarding yourself" first. In my case, I might as well award myself a pair of shoes every time I get my paycheck. But I'm VERY frugal. So go figure.

The good thing about fashion blogging is, I don't really have to buy all the boots that I fancy. I can just feed my eyes and when I'm done, share them to my readers.

4 Ways to Exercise for the Body You Always Wanted

Everyone wants to have healthy muscles, whether model-type, athlete type, or even body-builder type. There are many exercises, as well as equipment you can use to help you achieve this goal. Here are some of the equipment you can use to get that muscles you have always wanted:

♥Exercise using free weights

There are lots of exercises using free weights that significantly help you gain muscles. Strength training, which is the type of exercise that lets you build up muscles, includes programs using free weights. Although weights are not the only option for you, using such equipment are very effective in bringing stress to your body that lets you gain muscles. What distinguishes free weights from other strength training equipment is that it is not attached to a machine. When using free weights, you must know how much weight you can bear without injuring yourself. Do not start with heavy weights. Fitness experts usually advise you to do resistance training thrice a week to give your body time to rest and do cardio exercises on your other vacant days to help burn fats faster and make your muscles more visible.

Fitness machines are usually readily available in your gym. If you have the determination and the time, as well as the budget and space at home, you can always get one for your home program. The problem, however, is that most of these machines are expensive and can be bulky and difficult to install. Nowadays, more training machines are developed to be foldable and portable, yet they still function similarly as your gym machines. The somewhat akin to Elvis Presley, this almost legendary franchise series is actually killed not by no brainer fashionistas but by stay-on-their-guts stylish recessionistas who saw the thickening of the wardrobes of these New York besties entirely unaffordable. But did you know? That many of these same recessionistas who killed the SATC are actually turning to online bingo as a way to support their fashion needs? How true?

According to reports, it’s the women who already got a hold of their fashion sense that get involved in bingo fashion – those middle aged or older women. They play for fun, sure, but they also take chance to earn more for quick, easy funds and thereby shop for their fashion essentials. All these are thanks to an easy access to the internet. They shop online. At the same time, they play bingo online.

Aside from fashion reasons, a lot of people participate in betting or gambling because of more serious objectives: to win and become instant rich. Fashion Don't! My fashion faux pas ...

I used to have regular posts on Fashion Don't Celebrity Outfits. I search for outfits that make eyebrows rise and then ask you if it's a fashion faux pas or not. Answers may vary but majority usually demand to add them to our Fashion Don't list! And yet, when I saw the post of Erika, the photo of her as a girl before she was a fashionista, it made me realize, I have my own share of fashion faux pas. In fact, tons of them. So why not share even one?

I can't help myself but laugh when I saw this photo after like 6 years. It really is funny to see my style before the fashionista days.I wore only Jag for jeans and I thought I was cool. My bag can only be JanSport backpack or sling. I made a promise to myself that even though I'll grow older, I would never carry handbags and shoulder bags that are so girly-like. I'd carry only JanSport.

I checked my closet tonight and saw no JanSport bag. I believe I didn't have JanSport for years now.

Boy, see those shoes?!

Elle Fashion Week 2010 in Bangkok: Fashion Bloggers Meet Up

I think that it's a good idea for fashion bloggers who live in the same area to meet up. It's an opportunity for like minded people to learn from each other, inspire one another, or simply just hang out, have fun and discuss anything and fashion. And what better time and place to meet virtual friends who share your passion than in a fashion week event?

It seemed at first that I'm the only fashion blogger who blogs in English in this very sophisticated city of Bangkok. I was looking for other bloggers in this place to connect; but mostly, they blog in Thai medium. But it wasn't so long ago when I met Sweet of Pensandlens in this blogosphere. She's one of my people who happened to be living and working in Bangkok too. Finally we met up. And guess what? We met at Elle Fashion Week 2010 at Central World, Bangkok.

We shared ideas on how to improve a blog's trafffic, how to use some SEO techniques in writing contents and how to make our blogs user friendly.

We shared, too, our encounters with fashion blogger haters, the demeaning comments we received and how we handled them.

And of course, just like any fashion blogger, we clearly love posing for cameras. I first thought, it isn't obvious.

It's funny how you seem to know a person too well even without meeting. And I realized, that what you feel towards a person behind the monitor usually is true when you meet up. It didn't feel like it was the first time we met.

It wasn't part of the plan, but we ended up shopping too. This last photo was taken in the dressing room of Forever21.

Creative Fashion opens heart ... How I got hooked in fashion blogging

One day I stumbled upon blogger and the thought of putting up a fashion blog came up. I never knew about blogging before. All I had were profiles at Helium, Associated Content and Ezine where I published my articles, short stories and poetry. Blogger made things easy for a complete newbie. The name Creative Fashion quickly came into picture. I never had moments when I had to think and rethink about the name for my blog; it simply was given. I created an account, searched for some free layouts and published my first fashion blog ever. How fast time flies? It's already one year and a half ago, and here I am, still blogging.

I was completely at loss when I was starting. Oftentimes I didn't know what to do. I visited other fashion blogs and when I saw their huge following and community of people commenting, I felt like engulfed by this overwhelming sea of fashion bloggers. I felt so tiny. I felt so insecure. "What am I doing here? Who am I to blog about fashion?" were the usual thoughts that haunted me.

Then I met a virtual friend who was blogging almost full-time by the time, but hers were personal blogs. When I met her, I already had abandoned Creative Fashion. I had stopped blogging for some time. She encouraged me to put up a personal blog where I can collectively publish my creative writings. I was convinced that a literary or personal blog would be more productive for me. Therefore I set up my personal blog A peek into my life and my thoughts ... and spent all my free time developing my blog and connecting with other non-fashion bloggers. I found that the other side of blogosphere was much more welcoming. I connected easily with a lot of bloggers and in a short time, my personal blog earned a pr 3.

After several months of religiously tending my personal blog, it reached a plateau. I was spending so much hours for it but it wasn't earning any revenue. It was then that I reconsidered my fashion blog. Immediately, Creative Fashion was revived. I challenged myself to learn every facets of fashion blogging. I made it a goal to increase my pagerank into 4. Then I read an article that says, you cannot succeed in blogging by being an island. You gotta go out and join the sea. Thus I started visiting and commenting on other blogs. I was slowly and painfully earning friends. But it was fulfilling. The hardest part that I faced was getting other bloggers exchange links with my blog. I felt that some bloggers who has got higher page ranks were snob when it comes to exchanging links. I felt upset at first but eventually learned to let it pass. Later, I realized that there are also plenty of wonderful bloggers out there that are willing to be friends and exchange links. I wasn't posting a lot of My Outfit posts and my contents were not very striking. I then focused on improving my contents. I set goals after goals and before I knew it, I was hooked. I documented my learning as a list of tips on How to increase pagerank in the shortest possible time .

For how many times I was tempted to quit. But I'm thankful for the goals that I challenged myself to reach, they made me keep working on. This blog is bringing in some bucks but not that much to compensate the number of hours that I spend maintaining it. However, my blogs served as training grounds. I learned so many things about web publishing. I became exposed to so many opportunities. And because of this experience, new projects came to me that are just waiting for the perfect time to get launched. I'm extremely excited for 2011.

As I reflect upon these things tonight, I thought that perhaps it's about time to turn the limelight from myself unto my readers. This is the first time that I am doing this and I can't help but scold myself for waiting too long.

I found myself engulfed tonight by dresses that define both elegance and femininity in an almost dream-like manner. There is something in the way Ellie Saab designs his dresses. He is able to visualize how his dress would create luxury and power in a woman yet mixes it with softness and comfort. I'm quite surprised, I would be so willingly wear everything from his Ready-to-Wear Spring 2011 Collection. This isn't my case for all designers. How many designers outfits are looking good on the runway but would never make me confident and comfortable to wear.

Ellie Saab is a Lebanese fashion designer who's self-made and self-trained. He started designing dresses and outfits at age 9 for his sisters using his mother's table cloths and curtains. At age 18, he put up his first atelier at Lebanese and all his evening gowns and wedding dresses were well-received. He must be a genius beyond his age.

He worked his way up to attain fame and expand his empire. But what made him a star was actually that dress that Halle Berry wore at the Oscars in 2002 when she received her first Oscar award. Since then, several A-list celebrities embraced his designs.

Rarely do I spend hours looking and studying designers' dresses because I bar myself from spending too much money for too expensive designs that are beyond my means. I have projects in mind that would make my future, therefore, I need to save my money. Meantime, just let me dream for all these alluring dresses.

How to fashionably wear shorts

Shorts, and I mean short shorts, are arguably my most signature style. Whenever you get a glimpse of me on any other day, whether I'm strolling off the streets of Bangkok, shopping, or spending a wonderful afternoon at the park, and unless I'm at work, you most certainly see me wearing shorts. Perhaps I can point at the weather in this corner of the world - which is always ridiculously hot - as the reason of my love for shorts; or probably, it could simply be due to my unconscious desire to bare more skin, I'm not really sure.

A few months ago, I playfully ask the question of how short do you wear shorts? I heard quite a number of amused reactions from the readers when they saw how some celebrities wear shorts. But today, to answer a serious question from a reader, how do you fashionably wear shorts? I came up with this post.

Faded denim shorts, plain white top and flip flops or flat sandals completed with a fabulous jacket. Let the jacket speak for the outfit. Loud accessories obviously furnishes the look.

Layer your shorts with your favorite tights. This is best when it's winter or when you feel it isn't that cool to bear that much skin. ;)

I love this look a lot, very vintage. It's high waist short shorts with huge pockets that are clearly outlined. How the red stripes made contrast with the shorts' color is very intriguing.

Wear shorts as a teaser by pairing it with a blousy off shoulder top. I'd prefer wearing gladiator sandals for this look.

This is the look that my fiance hate to see me wear. The reason? He says that my rear isn't visible in this kind of shirt. And since I'm skinny, he thinks that the curves aren't displayed at all. If the shirt doesn't hike up at the back, it seems that I'm only wearing a long shirt and an underwear. Oh really? I don't really care. As long as I feel comfortable, a pair of well-shaped legs displayed suffice for the look. But oh, have you thought of using a really fierce hand bag for this outfit?

Tattered denim shorts really impress me. Why not pair them with a loose knitted top or a transparent blouse layered by a fitting undergarment? And well, look at those shoes.;)

Rider denim shorts can be really challenging cuz if not done right, you can look slutty. But if you're brave enough, wear underneath a pair panties leggings that extend down your legs to stylishly cover some length.

I'm not really sure if after getting up in the morning and just grabbing a leather jacket to cover your top is a good idea. After all, isn't this nighties shorts look fabulous in the catwalk.

A busy Sunday, a deafening storm and a Promo Code at once ...

As I write this post my neck and shoulders are paining from the day's business - cleaning the pad and laundry in the morning, going out to a fast food restaurant writing my lesson plans while chewing some french fries and sipping some cola, and sitting in front of my laptop afterwards searching and downloading for a bank of worksheets for each of my classes. There's a guy coming to school tomorrow for accreditation and thus the panic. Fingers crossed but he might end up observing my class. I hope not.

As I write this post the peaceful sky suddenly broke into an angry devilish storm. The thunders are deafening and the lightnings blinding. I had to hurriedly run to the balcony and cover my bunnies, they're entirely helpless in their cage, too scared from both the screams of the thunder and the splash of its cold water. How vulnerable.

I had always adored leather jackets and I see them as a fashion essential. Bikers, rock stars, punks, metal heads and goths usually wear leather jackets probably because of the intimidating look that these jackets create and the protection that they give. But for a non-goth fashionista, a leather jacket means cool. It transforms an outfit into something incredible.

Living in the tropics gives me an excuse not to wear leather jacket; the temperature usually hits as high as 40-42 degrees in this country and thus sporting a leather jacket is hardly an opportunity. However, when I get to move to Europe, leather jackets would definitely be my most favorite apparel.

♥Choose among car rentals or hire a private car

You can find many car rentals with drivers to take you around Morocco. It is also recommended that you find a private car to rent or find your own driver who knows about the different sights and events in Morocco and the Moroccan traditions and culture. Make sure the driver you choose is trustworthy and knows about the places you wish to visit. Traveling around Morocco this way is also suggested if you are checking out possible home investments in Morocco, such as Tangier properties, resort villas, and more.

♥Take a Petit or Grande taxi

There are plenty of taxis you can find in different areas of Morocco to get you to places around town. The Petit taxis, which are color coded for certain areas, will conveniently take you around the city you are in. These taxis are metered. The Grande taxis, which are bigger and can take six passengers, are also available for longer trips. Grande taxis are usually found near bus stations. When taking a Grande taxi, you need to know that the six seats must be fully occupied before you can start your trip. ♥Take the bus

You can also ride a bus around Morocco, which is a cheaper option. Buses have their set routes, so make sure you know exactly where you need to stop. When riding a bus, you also need to be careful, as there have been many cases of robbery reported in buses.

♥Relax and ride a train

Taking the train is one of the best ways to go to some places in Morocco. Aside from being fast and affordable, the trains are clean and comfortable. Plus, you do not need any reservation to get a first class seat. You will also get a lot of opportunities to go and talk to many Moroccan nationals and learn more about the people and their culture. Routes include Tangier-Kenitra-Rabat-Casablanca, Uojuda-Fes-Meknes-Kenitra, Casablanca-Marrakech, and Casablanca-Mohammed V International Airport. There are also night trains in Morocco that depart daily at 9 in the evening.

♥Go biking

On one of your days in Morocco, try biking around the country roads. Not only will you experience adventure at its best, but you will also discover another face Morocco has to offer. You can arrange for biking tours from reliable operators to make your biking trip even more enjoyable. Other great places to bike around include the Sahara desert from April and May or in October and November. Chefchaouen is perfect during the summer and fall seasons.
